Faculty mentors are essential to the success of our scholar community. The Office for Foundation Scholars works with dedicated faculty members who are passionate about supporting student growth, building community, and guiding scholars through their academic and personal journeys. As a mentor, you will work closely with a small group of students, offering mentorship, encouragement, and insights at key moments during their time at Tulane. All mentors must commit to a four-year term and to support their mentorship role. If you are interested in forming meaningful connections with students, we encourage you to apply and become part of our vibrant mentoring community.

Mentorship Opportunities

College Track mentors
Mentors are essential to the success of College Track Scholars. They guide students from their first year at Tulane through graduation, helping them connect to campus resources, encouraging them to excel academically, and offering support during difficult times. Mentors meet with their cohort of 6-8 students weekly as a group and have individual meetings biweekly during the first two years.

Posse Mentors
Posse mentors are crucial to the success of the Posse Program. They support Posse Scholars from their first year at Tulane through graduation, helping them connect with campus resources, encouraging academic excellence, and providing emotional support when needed. Mentors meet with their cohort of 10-12 students weekly as a group and biweekly for individual meetings during the first two years.

Mayoral Scholar Mentors

Mayoral Scholars mentors play a vital role in the success and well-being of their scholars. These mentors provide consistent guidance and support from the students’ first year at Tulane through their transition into college life. They help scholars navigate academic challenges, connect with campus resources, and foster a strong sense of community and belonging. Mentors meet regularly with their cohort of 10 students, facilitating weekly group sessions and biweekly one-on-one check-ins during the first two years. Through this close mentorship, they help scholars build confidence, set goals, and thrive both personally and academically.
