As a first-generation college student born and raised in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, my journey into academia has been shaped by a deep-rooted passion for political science and philosophy. These interests have not only broadened my intellectual interest but also instilled in me a profound appreciation for the intricacies of governance, social justice, and ethical reasoning. At the core of my beliefs lies the significance of leadership—a concept I perceive not merely as a position of authority but as a responsibility to serve as an adaptable and resilient individual in any situation. True leadership, to me, is not about wielding power, but about empowering others and fostering collaboration with integrity and grace. Due to these interests and motivated by a relentless pursuit of knowledge and a desire to make a positive impact, I was interested in becoming a Dean's Ambassador. A decision driven primarily by the prospect of immersing myself in a diverse community of scholars, leaders, and changemakers—individuals whose collective experiences and insights could enrich my own understanding of the world. Additionally, as a Dean's Ambassador, I am committed to bridging gaps and fostering inclusivity, whether through organizing events or simply lending a listening ear, I hope to have the opportunity to create an environment where every individual feels valued and inspired. As I continue to navigate the complexities of university life and more, I am guided by the belief that leadership is not a destination but a journey, a journey that I am excited to partake in through this opportunity.
