Favorite thing(s) about Tulane: “Taking walks at Audubon Park” 

My name is Favour Olushola and I’m an international student from Nigeria currently studying Information Technology and on the pre-medical track at Tulane University. I joined Tulane University due to the flexibility and richness of its academic curriculum that could enable me to explore various majors that I was interested in and curious about. Emboldened by the tools within Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC), I decided on Information Technology and the premedical track with the desire to create my own bioinformatics major and pursue opportunities within and outside the classroom that allowed me to hone my passion for understanding more about real-world applications of technology in healthcare/medical field. Since then, Tulane has provided me with more learning opportunities that explore this interest through the exposure to research. Outside academics, I have been fortunate to find various extracurriculars and clubs where I can grow amongst like-minded individuals focused on inspiring community, personal development/advancement and a mutual space for respect and growth. This has led me to the Dean Ambassador’s Program where I hope to give back to the Tulane community by supporting the departments that provided me with the tools and resources I need to thrive at Tulane. I want to help foster more opportunities and safe spaces where students can explore, grow, thrive and celebrate their shared passions on their academic journeys. For me, leadership is about this and more. It’s about inspiring positive impact wherever you are and cultivating an enriching space where individuals of various backgrounds can connect and learn from one another. It is my hope that as part of the Dean’s Ambassadors program, working with the NTC community and my fellow ambassadors, I can achieve this and more. In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, taking walks at Audubon Park, watching TV shows and listening to music. My favorite songs are Peace Be Unto You by Asake and Game Changer by Flavour and my favorite TV show is Avatar the Last Airbender.
