Jaquelynn Martinez
Biography
Jaquelynn Martinez is a proud first-generation college student at Tulane University. Originally from a Hispanic household, Jaquelynn brings a unique bicultural perspective to her leadership role, drawing from her experiences navigating both American educational spaces and her cultural heritage. For Jaquelynn, leadership means creating inclusive, supportive environments where all voices are heard and valued. Her journey has been shaped by a strong commitment to equity and community-building, especially for those who may not have had access to mentorship or guidance in higher education. This value system inspired her to become a Dean’s Ambassador — an opportunity to bridge the gap between students, faculty and staff while helping others find their place and purpose at Tulane. Fluent in Spanish and English, Jaquelynn often acts as a connector across language and cultural divides — skills she applies daily in her role as an ambassador. Jaquelynn is passionate about supporting students from all walks of life, ensuring they feel seen, supported and empowered to reach their goals. Through her role as a Dean’s Ambassador, she aims to amplify student voices and contribute to an environment where every student has the tools and confidence to thrive.
