Biography

Hector is a second-year student at Tulane University double majoring in Public Health and Political Science with a concentration in International Relations, and minoring in Latin American Studies. Hailing from Covington, Louisiana, Hector is dedicated to exploring how law, global health, and policy intersect to promote equity locally and globally.

This year, Hector contributes to the PCORI-funded Allergen Reduction and Child Health Study (ARCHS) under Dr. Rabito’s team, focusing on improving pediatric asthma outcomes in underserved communities through home-based allergen reduction. Responsibilities include data collection, environmental assessments, surveys, and outcome tracking.

In addition to research, Hector serves as Co-Relations Chair for TU Gente, an Underclassmen Representative and Professional Discovery Cohort member in the Public Health Society, and a chapter member of Phi Alpha Delta, Tulane’s pre-law fraternity. These roles support student engagement and leadership development.

Hector views leadership as empathetic, inclusive, and collaborative—fostering environments where others feel empowered to lead. Motivated by a commitment to service, Hector embraces the Dean’s Ambassador role as an opportunity to support diverse student perspectives and strengthen community within Newcomb-Tulane College.
