Shantay Hill

Biography

Shantay is a sophomore from New Orleans, Louisiana, majoring in Finance and pursuing the 4+1 MACCT program to earn her Master’s in Accounting. On campus, she is involved in the Black Student Union, works as a Research Assistant through the Newcomb Institute, and serves as a Resident Advisor with Housing & Residence Life. In her free time, Shantay enjoys hanging out with friends, trying new foods around the city, and picking up new hobbies. She’s excited to be a mentor because she wants to support students the same way others have supported her—by helping them feel prepared, confident, and connected during their time at Tulane.  

Favorite Thing about TU: Her favorite thing about Tulane is the tight-knit community. Shantay loves that there are countless ways to build connections, get support, and find people who genuinely want to help her succeed and thrive.  

Tips for Foundation Scholars: Be open to everything! Tulane is a place full of opportunities—study abroad, pursue a combined degree, join new organizations… if you’re interested in something, go for it! Take advantage of all the resources around you and don’t be afraid to say yes to new possibilities.
