Biography
Dr. Katie Russell is a Senior Professor of Practice in the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department. Originally from Lafayette, LA, she completed an M.S. in Biomedical Sciences and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University researching the regenerative capabilities of adult stem cells.
Dr. Russell has taught at Tulane for 13 years with a focus on hands-on learning, student professional development, and community engagement. Considering this, her favorite class to teach is her junior-level service-learning course where students partner with project sponsors from Audubon Aquarium and Glass Half Full to tackle real-world sustainability challenges.
