Heather Cooper
Director, College Advising
Biography
As Director of College Advising, Heather works to offer wraparound support to undergraduate students as they build meaningful academic plans with her team of talented advisors. Heather has been in the education field for over 20 years as an advisor, instructor and facilitator. Heather earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a master’s degree in urban studies from the (former) University of New Orleans. Driven by her love of student development, human motivation and meaningful connections, Heather started in advising at Tulane in 2013 and never looked back.
Born in Orange County, California, and raised in Central Florida, Heather moved to New Orleans after college in the hopes of finding adventure. Heather now spends her days raising three soon-to-be college-aged kids with her husband, also an educator, and dreaming of a cool breeze on a beach, a secret swimming hole in the mountains or a quiet walk on an unknown path.
