The Newcomb-Tulane College Dean’s Grant Program

DOWNLOAD AND PRINT AN APPLICATION

The Dean’s Grant Program allows Newcomb-Tulane College students to obtain funding for cocurricular activities and projects that are not eligible for the Lurcy, Devlin, Taylor, Putnam or Gordon grant programs. Please review the criteria for these grant programs at http://college.tulane.edu/grants.htm before applying for a Dean’s Grant. Dean’s Grants will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis throughout the school year and granted at the discretion of the Dean of Newcomb-Tulane College. Students may apply for up to $1000 for individual projects. Groups of two or more students may apply for up to $3500 for collaborative projects, with the total amount requested not exceeding $1000 per student.

Examples of projects that may qualify for a Dean’s Grant are:

• travel costs and fees incurred while attending an academic conference,
• participation in a group research project,
• tuition and/or travel costs related to summer study programs,
• tuition and/or travel costs related to organized study abroad programs or language institutes

Applicants should make detailed and specific proposals that clearly show how the grant will be used. Winners of Dean’s Grants will be required to submit a one-to-two-page report to the Dean after the conclusion of their project.

To apply, submit your application to the Newcomb-Tulane College Office of Cocurricular Programs (Robert C. Cudd Hall, Room 204). Do not staple the pages of your application; please clip them or enclose them in a folder. You will be notified of the Dean’s decision via email within one week after you submit your application; if your request is approved, you will be required to submit a W-9 form. Please note that it can take Accounts Payable up to three weeks to process check requests.
